The Human Dignity Committee is sponsoring a food drive, this time held in honor of St. Philip Neri, whose feast we celebrate May 26. All food and personal items collected will benefit those served by Community Services. Members of the Human Dignity will pass out bags that you can fill with food for those in need. We encourage everyone to bring back their bags the weekend of May 22 and 23—though you’re welcome to drop off items in the back of church at any time!
We are invited to imitate St. Philip and, in an act of devotion to Christ, give alms to the poor in our community. See below for a list of most-needed items.
MOST NEEDED FOOD ITEMS:
Dry/Bagged Beans (black, pinto, etc.); Rice; Canned meats or proteins; Canned vegetables; Soups; Boxed dinners; EasyMac, Cup of Noodles or other heat-and-eat foods; Cheese or peanut butter crackers; Beef jerky; Fruit or applesauce cups; Protein bars/Cliff bars; Trail mix/nuts; Peanut butter; Dried fruit; Hormel Compleats; Dinty Moore single serve packages; Gatorade
MOST NEEDED PERSONAL CARE ITEMS:
Gloves and hand warmers; Small packs of cleansing wipes; Disposable forks/spoons/knives; Hand sanitizer (small containers); Bar soap; Toothpaste; Diapers, especially larger sizes; Diaper
