BrightSide Produce, an organization that makes fresh produce more accessible
in low-income urban neighborhoods through weekly distribution of produce to corner stores in the Twin Cities, is seeking families and individuals to join their Neighborhood Pod Program!
During the summer, BrightSide Produce manages eight outdoor weekly farm
stands in Minneapolis food deserts. The Neighborhood Pods are an important piece of
our work, because they allow BrightSide FarmStands to remain a financially sustainable
operation, pay their youth partners, and help maintain a zero-waste operation. For about
every 10 subscribed Pod members, we are able to sustain the work of one farm stand!
As a Neighborhood Pod member, one would receive a $15 bundle of produce for 10 weeks from late June to August 2019. These bundles contain a mixture of conventional and chemical-free, locally sourced produce (10-15 pieces), including fresh produce from the University of St. Thomas' Stewardship Garden! The produce share will be available for evening pick-up weekly
at the selected location of your choice.
