As some of you know, I have recently been assigned to serve in a new mission at a different parish of the Archdiocese. A very important part of being a religious is to always be ready
for whatever exciting plans the Lord might have in store for you, so as to be able to say, “Here I am, Lord, I am ready to do Your will!” Although it is sad to leave this parish family, I
am also excited about the new mission the Lord is entrusting to me.
I still remember my first day at Saint Mark’s. It was a Holy Thursday, and although I could hardly understand English, that didn’t stop me from experiencing right away that I had come to a very warm and welcoming community. Saint Mark’s is not just any parish, but is a real family. It has been more than two years since that day, and I am so grateful for the time I have served here. I have been able to witness the strong faith that is lived out by young and old, the commitment of families to the formation of their children, and the joy, enthusiasm and desire for holiness of the youth at Ignite. It has all been a real blessing and I will always treasure this time in my heart.
The good news is, I will still be in town! We will definitely all stay in touch and I will see you around at Mass and other events. I hope you know that you can count on me for anything.
I know that the Lord has great plans for Saint Mark’s and that each one of you is a big part of that! I want to encourage all of you to keep striving for holiness, keep seeking the Lord in Mass and Adoration, and keep giving of yourself in the different ministries where you serve. The Lord wants to reign in the world, and for the world to burn with His love. For that, He chooses to need each of us! Sr. Leann and Sr. Laura, who will be taking on the ministry with Ignite and Faith Formation, are really excited (actually more than excited!) to come serve all of you.
Thank you for your love and kindness. I hope that Ignite will continue to be a flame for our children and young people who really want to be saints and apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Lastly, as the family that I truly have in all of you, please keep me in your prayers, as you will always be in mine!
